Relaxation & Meditation for Developing Calmness and Courage

It’s a guided method to release tension—start by gently relaxing each body part, settle into the heart, and rest in inner calm.

Practice this guided relaxation by reading (and learning) this relaxation
script, which makes gentle suggestions to relax your body, from the feet
to the top of the head, and finally resting at the heart.

Sit comfortably and close your eyes very softly and very gently.
Begin with the toes. Wiggle your toes. Now feel them relax.
Feel the healing energy of Mother Earth move up into your toes, feet and ankles.
Then up to your knees, relaxing the lower legs.
Feel the healing energy move further up your legs. Relax your thighs.
Now, deeply relax your hips … stomach … and waist.
Relax your back. From your tailbone to your shoulders, feel your entire back relaxing.
Relax your chest … and shoulders. Feel your shoulders simply melting away…
Relax your upper arms. Relax each muscle in your forearms… your hands … right up to your
fingertips.
Relax your neck muscles. Move your awareness up to your face. Relax the jaw … mouth … nose …
eyes … ear lobes… facial muscles … forehead … all the way to the top of your head.
Feel how your whole body is now completely relaxed. Scan your system from top to toe, and if
there is any part of your body that is still tense, painful, or unwell, feel it being immersed in the
healing energy of Mother Earth for a little while longer.
When you are ready, move your attention to your heart. Rest there for a little while. Feel
immersed in the love and light in your heart.
Remain still and quiet, and slowly become absorbed within.
Remain absorbed for as long as you want, until you feel ready to come out.

Rather than focusing on breath, gently tune into the Source of Light within your heart.

Choose a place where you can meditate without being distracted, preferably at the same place and same time daily. Silence your phones
and turn off other devices. Sit with your back upright but not rigid.

Sit comfortably. Gently close your eyes and relax.
If needed, take a couple of minutes to relax your body by doing the Heartfulness Relaxation.
Turn your attention inwards and take a moment to observe yourself.
Then, gently make a supposition that there is Source of Light in your heart.
Think that the light is attracting you from within.
Let your awareness rest in your heart. Feel yourself melting into this awareness.
Gently relax into that feeling. If you find your awareness drifting to other thoughts,
do not fight them but also do not entertain them. Let them be, while simply
reminding yourself that you are meditating on the Source of Light in your heart.
Allow yourself to become more and more absorbed within.
You might relax into a deep state that feels like sleep. That is okay.
Remain absorbed within this deep silence for as long as you want, until you feel
ready to come out of meditation.

Begin with 5–10 minutes and gradually increase it to 1 hour, building comfort.

No need to fight them—just notice and gently return your focus to the heart.

It can calm your mind, build awareness, and strengthen emotional resilience.

The heart is seen as a deeper, purer aspect of our being—cultivating presence and clarity.

It is through the heart that we connect to our deepest Self and to others.
In all languages, there are so many beautiful ways we find the heart described : he is close to my heart,
let’s have a heart to heart discussion, she is such a kind-hearted person, I have put my heart into this,
they left with a heavy heart.
All refer to a deep state of feeling, an involvement of the person at the deepest level.
There are other reasons to have the heart at the centre of the meditation.
The heart beats and sends the blood to the entire body and reaches all the cells.
Purifying the heart benefits the entire organism, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
The heart is really the base of our response to situations.

Absolutely—Heartfulness is non-religious and accessible to all backgrounds.

Ideally when you can sit quietly—morning or evening both work well. Try to fix the same time to meditate every day. Our systems are sensitive to daily rhythms and routines, so if you meditate at the same time each day, your biological clock will become used to it. It becomes part of your regular daily pattern in life.
The ideal time to meditate is in the early morning, before dawn, before everything around starts stirring. This is a beautiful time of stillness in nature so it is easier to feel that same stillness within. You will find a tranquil calm atmosphere in which to meditate. If this is not possible for you, then try to meditate at the same time each day, whatever it may be. When you meditate on the Source of Light in your heart first thing in the morning, the effect can affect your whole day in a very positive way.

A technique to relax the body, and
stimulate the positive attributes of the heart.

Breath in that which is good, needed,
and positive for your self-improvement
Breath out that which is good for others,
and for the betterment of the global community
Breath in all that is good for me
Breath out all that is good for everyone
Breath in positivity
Breath out optimism
Breath in appreciation
Breath out joy
Breath in compassion
Breath out love

Taking a few minutes to journal after each session allows you to reflect on
your inner experience, notice subtle shifts, and develop greater selfawareness.
Writing things down helps you process emotions, track your
growth, and deepen your connection with this new meditation practice.
This simple habit can reveal powerful insights over time.

Why journal?
Writing after meditation helps you reflect, remember, and notice subtle
inner changes. It’s your personal mirror: no one else will read it.
When should I journal?
Capture your experiences while they’re fresh. Psychologists say we
remember best when we write in the same state we experienced
something.
What do I write?
There are no rules. Write how you feel after meditation, your thoughts,
dreams, or even poetic reflections. Let the process guide you.
How do I approach it?
Be honest, open, and kind with yourself. Don’t force it. Just observe and
allow whatever comes to surface.

A technique to relax the body, and stimulate the positive attributes of the heart.

Breath in that which is good, needed,
and positive for your self-improvement
Breath out that which is good for others,
and for the betterment of the global community
Breath in all that is good for me
Breath out all that is good for everyone
Breath in positivity
Breath out optimism
Breath in appreciation
Breath out joy

Rejuvenation — Reducing Emotional Burden for Clarity and Contentment

What is Heartfulness rejuvenation and how is it done?

How can I listen to my heart? It’s not so hard, first we need to quiet all of our thoughts down. We do that when we relax or rest our mind with Heartfulness meditation.
Now what do we do about all the feelings and emotions that fill our minds. Sometimes we are angry or disappointed and at times we ponder over pleasurable thoughts. Sometimes if someone says something that hurts our feelings, it keeps playing over and over again like a song stuck in our head.
We will teach you a way to let go of all these things. Just like taking a shower after long game
of soccer or volleyball, you will feel refreshed and rejuvenated. This is called Heartfulness
Rejuvenation.

This rejuvenation technique is an end of the day evening mental detox that clears emotional weight by visualizing stress leaving your system, followed by a flow of purity entering our heart so as to create space and lightness in the heart.

When your daily work is over and you reach home, take 20-30 minutes to ‘reset’ yourself. This time is for you, so switch off your phone.

Sit in a comfortable position. Close your eyes and relax.
Now let’s have the intention to rejuvenate and fill ourselves with light and love.
Imagine that all the impressions you felt today are evaporating out your back like mist
evaporating into the air.
You don’t need to think about the things that happened, just stay with your imagination – this
mist is leaving your back. [Pause]
Imagine this mist is leaving straight out your back creating a lightness in your heart. [Pause]
If your attention drifts, and you find yourself involved in other thoughts, gently bring your
attention back to the process.
Imagine the mist is evaporating out your back even faster taking with it all these emotions.
Continue doing this for a few minutes or until you feel lighter inside, like a big weight has been
removed from you.
When you feel lighter, you can start the second part of the process.
Let’s imagine a gentle wave of lightness and love is entering you from the front. This lightness
and love are filling your heart and making it shine.
Feel that you are light, that you are safe, that you are loved. Everything is okay.
Now you can slowly finish. Feel you are refreshed and rejuvenated.

How long does a rejuvenation session take?

About 15–20 minutes—enough to feel true emotional lightness.

Is it okay to feel emotions during rejuvenation?

Yes—just witness them without judgment, and let the cleaning process gently release them.

What feelings follow a good rejuvenation practice session?

Expect lightness, clarity, and simplicity—like your mind’s baggage has been lifted.

When is the ideal time to do rejuvenation?

Preferably after the day’s work in the evening—ideally not too late at night.

Is visualization required?

Yes—you visualize complexity leaving from your back as smoke, and purity entering from the front.

Will it help me sleep better?

Yes—the process resets your mind before bedtime, supporting peaceful rest.

Can this help me make better decisions?

Definitely. With clarity and calmness renewed, mental clarity improves.

Do I need special tools for rejuvenation?

No—just a quiet place, seated comfortably, and gentle focus.

Is there any benefit to the rejuvenation process?

This rejuvenation process helps to reduce emotional burden for clarity and contentment. It’s a blend of emotional clarity and subtle connecting energy—intuition deepens over time.

Reflection & Resolution — Bedtime Inner Connection

What is the Reflection & Resolution practice and how is it done?

Bedtime Contemplation — End the Day Intentionally, reflecting on the day.

Take 3–5 minutes to check in with yourself and invite clarity.

  • Lie or sit comfortably.
  • Close your eyes. Take 3 deep breaths.
  • Silently reflect: Let the day replay in front of you, from morning till now
  • Make yourself an impartial witness of your own reactions and responses through the day
  • Observe the thoughts that preceded your actions

“How did I show up today?”

“What am I holding onto that I can let go of?”

Check if these thoughts were driven by anxiety, stress, fear, envy, anger etc. or by compassion, aspiration, love etc.,

Assess if your mind generated a multiplicity of thoughts that built one on top of the other, creating stories about what might happen

“What did I learn today?”

  • Ask gently: “Is there anything my higher self (or deeper wisdom) wants me to know or notice?”

Mentally repeat the following ideas a couple of times, and ponder over their meaning as you go to sleep:

  1. The goal of life is to become the perfect version of ourselves
  2. We are currently held back by wishes that prevent our advancement towards this goal
  3. We seek inspiration and draw power from our own Higher Self within to reach this stage of perfection

Let go. Rest in silence or fall asleep with a sense of presence.

How much time is needed for this practice?

Just 10–15 minutes before bedtime works well.

Will this reflection and resolution help with emotional healing?

Yes absolutely—it fosters forgiveness, peace, and mental release, easing emotional tension.

Can a beginner or anyone do this on their own?

Certainly! Go gently and let the prayer lead—no analysis is needed.

How does it influence sleep?

Centers the heart and mind—sleep becomes deeper and more restorative.

Can this aid in building self-awareness?

Definitely—it invites reflection and healing, preparing the mind for the next day.

Is this a religious exercise?

No—it’s a universal offering to the heart and source, not bound to any faith.

How often should I practice this reflection and resolution?

Ideally nightly, paired with rejuvenation as part of an evening routine.

What is the Universal Prayer and how is it done?

The universal prayer is a daily Heartfulness practice that is dedicated to the welfare of all. Everyone is invited and encouraged to join in this universal prayer.

At 9:00 p.m. sharp local time anywhere in the world, everyone who would like to do so, wherever they might be at the time, may stop their activities and meditate for fifteen minutes, thinking that “all men and women are being filled with love and devotion and that real faith is growing stronger in them. It shall be of immense value to them, which their practical experience only shall reveal.”

What are some of the Heartfulness Affirmations?

By stating an affirmation heartfully, we tune the chaos
of the mind into the stillness of the heart, deepening our
internal connection and strengthening the positive traits
of the heart, such as compassion, empathy, and love.

These affirmations help us to center, relax, and be open.
When we connect internally, we are better able to connect
externally to everyone and everything around us.
I am happy, joyful, and grateful for all my life experiences.
I am clear, calm, and confident with my words and actions.
I am balanced. I am centered. I am relaxed. I am connected within my heart.
I am becoming more empathetic, compassionate, and loving.
I am genuine in my thinking. I am developing correct thinking, clear
understanding, and an honest approach to life.
I feel connected to everyone and everything around me.
